Every week we bring you our special selection of all things arty. From interesting websites to highly anticipated performances for your diary, there is something to spark all kinds of creative interest.
1. Creative Chimpanzee

A chimpanzee called Brent has recently won $10,000 for the sanctuary that he lives in – by painting with his tongue. 27,000 people voted for his artwork to win the Humane Society of the United States’s Chimpanzee Art Contest, which gives money to the winners’ sanctuaries. 2. What Wow. com
“Whatwow collects unconventional examples of construction techniques, material use, typologies, programs etc. invented today or centuries ago that expand your possibilities beyond the building-as-usual.”
We like the use of creativity combined with constuction here. Although the website hasn’t been updated for a while browsing through reveals some interesting ideas that may spark some quirky inventions of your own. We particularly like the plant based furniture which would fit well into last week’s underground homes.
3. CARA Student Art Competition
The organisation CARA, which campaigns for Academic Freedom, is asking for entries for a student artwork competition. The theme is ‘Defending Academic Freedom’ and entries must sent by the 30th September. To find out more about the competition and CARA, click here.
